Dhofar Nomads R.F.C. is a vibrant and passionate rugby club located in Salalah, Oman. Founded in 1971 we strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment for our players to participate in the exciting sport of rugby.
We promote a sense of community and team spirit, giving each and every one of our members a chance to learn about and enjoy the game. What is Rugby?
Rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. Rugby is simply based on running with the ball in hand. In its most common form, a game is played between two teams of 15 players each, using an oval-shaped ball on a rectangular field called a pitch. The field has H-shaped goalposts at both ends.
Rugby union is a popular sport around the world, played by people of all genders, ages and sizes. In Oman Oman rugby is the governing body for the sport and is a member of Asia Rugby.
